I became a photographer in 1985 when my mother gave me my first Fisher-Price camera. I started to get paid for my photography in 2005. That is when I began a portrait photography studio in the spare bedroom of the first house my husband and I owned. I quickly turned my 10x10 spare room into an 1,800 square foot storefront in South Bend, Indiana. Ten short years later, I am hoping to inspire future artists, photographers or otherwise, by becoming an art teacher. I am currently enrolled in Bethel College's Transition to Teaching program and will graduate with my Indiana teaching license in May 2016.
Here, on my ePortfolio, I aim to share my journey of education. I am learning how to take my passion of creating art into the classroom and how to become a highly effective teacher. I want as many of my students as possible to find their inner artist in whatever medium speaks to them and I want to expose my students to as much of the art world as I can.
